About

Saint-Fabien-de-Panet is a parish municipality of Quebec ( Canada ) as part of the regional county municipality of Montmagny itself included in the administrative region Chaudière-Appalaches . It is named in honor of Pope Fabian . The Fabien have also been named the first pastor serving in 1902-1904 Joseph-Fabien Dumais.



This village of St. Fabien De Panet has about 1000 inhabitants is located atop a large hill in the village we find services such as a CLSC, a pool, an ambulance service, restaurants, hotels, a church centennial, many homes for people elderly housing, school, etc …

History

The first settlers of what would become Saint-Fabien-de-Panet come to the late nineteenth century. In 1901, the mission of St. Theodore is based. The year 1904 was marked by the opening of the parish registers, the appointment of the first resident priest and the change of name to Saint-Fabien. On March 26, 1907, the constitution of the Parish Municipality of Saint-Fabien-de-Panet takes place. The canonical place May 11, 1914.

  • Fabien Bélanger (1936-1983), MP for Mégantic-Compton from 1980 to 1983.
  • Rosaire Bertrand (1936 -), PQ member of Charlevoix from 1994 to 2007 and Minister of National Capital between 2001 and 2003.
